§23 · Part VI

Where it stands among rival orders

Axiacracy takes a definite position. Against capitalism it prices the externalities and captures the concentration the market leaves unpriced, while keeping the market for what it does well. Against socialism it collectivises only the unearned and refuses central direction of the economy. Against technocracy it denies that anyone can compute the Good, and returns the weights to a vote.

Against political realism it adopts the effectual-truth method, design against how people actually behave, but fixes the ought as an inviolable Charter: effectual-truth in mechanism, deontological at the boundary. And from the virtue tradition it takes the substrate of trust and meaning while declining the sage and the metaphysics. It is a third position a capitalist could not call socialist, a socialist could not call capitalist, and a constitutionalist could not call lawless. The full ledger, thinker by thinker, is on Lineage & Critique.

What it means

Axiacracy takes a definite position against each rival, not a blur between them. Against capitalism: it prices the externalities and captures the concentration the market leaves untouched, while keeping the market. Against socialism: it collectivises only the unearned and refuses to own or steer the means. Against technocracy: it denies anyone can compute the Good, and hands the weights to a vote. Against political realism: it adopts the effectual-truth method, design for people as they are, but fixes the ought as an inviolable Charter (effectual-truth in mechanism, deontological at the boundary). And from the virtue tradition: it takes the substrate of trust and meaning while declining the sage and the metaphysics. The result is a third position a capitalist could not call socialist, a socialist could not call capitalist, and a constitutionalist could not call lawless.

Why Axiacracy needs it

A doctrine that will not say what it stands against is either vacuous or hiding, and a head of state needs to place it exactly. This § exists to state the position plainly, so Axiacracy is legible as a distinct order with clean edges, not a mush of borrowings or a rebranding of something familiar.

Compared with other approaches

This is the whole Lineage & Critique register in miniature, the thinker-by-thinker ledger of what was taken, adapted, and refused. It parts from the "third way" / mixed economy, which splits the difference on the old axis; Axiacracy redraws the axis itself (earned/unearned, correct/direct) rather than picking a midpoint. And it declines the "end of history" assumption that liberal capitalism is the terminus. For the full ledger, see Lineage.
