About this book
This is Book I of the Axiacracy Trilogy. It takes the oldest questions of political economy, what is value, what is earned, what does a state have a right to take, and answers them for the age in which work and income come apart. It is written for the intelligent general reader and for the statesman: no prior knowledge of the doctrine is assumed, and nothing essential is hidden in jargon.
The book is an engineering argument, not a utopia. Every mechanism it proposes is named together with the ways it can fail, and the whole design is built to be attacked, in criticism and in simulation, before it is ever trusted with a country.
